Hi, my name is Dave Copeland and I’m a Financial Advisor who has a disability. I had a lot of encouragement growing up from my mom, family, friends and teachers not to give up on anything I set out to accomplish. As a result. I became a goal-oriented person and decided I wanted to establish a career.
While I was in college pursuing an Advertising diploma, I read The Wealthy Barber by David Chilton which sparked an interest in saving money, investing and business. After I graduated college with an Advertising diploma, I worked in the non-profit sector in the areas of marketing and fundraising. However, the career I was seeking never came to fruition.
I discovered that I liked helping people and found it easy to connect with them A career in the financial services industry assisting people gain financial security really appealed to me.
In 2012, I obtained my Life Insurance License. While I was successfully building my clientele and business; I discovered that individuals who are receiving assistance through ODSP risk losing it if they receive an inheritance without a proper plan in place.
I furthered my knowledge of the Ontario Disability support Program (ODSP) and found out that using exempt assets would eliminate the risk of losing social assistance benefits.
In 2021, I obtained my Mutual Funds License and joined Monarch Wealth Corporation, a mutual fund dealer. I am confident with my abilities to serve and advise you. I welcome any questions that you have. Please do not hesitate to contact me to chat!
