Born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario; Dave did not let his disability prevent him from pursuing a career. After obtaining an Advertising diploma from Cambrian College, he worked in the non-profit sector in the areas of marketing and fundraising for various organizations. His work in the non-profit sector sparked an interest in business and a passion for helping people.
The success that he experienced helping these organizations raise money and awareness led him to a career in the financial services industry after he obtained his life insurance license in 2012. His outgoing personality, ensuring clients needs are met and providing superior customer service are the keys to his success. Out of a conversation with his manager, he discovered that there was a service-gap with individuals who have disabilities. He would be able to assist them and their families open and manage Registered Disability Savings Plans (RDSP)’s, if he were to obtain his mutual funds license. In 2021, he became a registered mutual funds representative and joined Monarch Wealth Corporation.
Community service has always been important and he has served on various boards and is a past member of the Kinsmen Club of Sudbury. As well as a past member of both the Zone and District executives of Kin Canada which is a Canadian service organization which is the umbrella organization of the Kinsmen Club of Sudbury. He is a past member of the Sudbury Toastmasters Club and served various positions on the executive. The leadership skills that he developed with these organizations enabled him to serve as Chair of the Board of Directors of Independent Living Manitoulin Sudbury Manitoulin (ILSM), which he did from 2020 to 2023.
He is a member of Advocis, a professional association for financial professionals and is currently in the process of obtaining his Professional Financial Advisor (PFA) Designation.
